Features MUSIC from PITTSBURGH rapper WIZ KHALIFA
WINNER - AUDIENCE AWARD - Three Rivers Film Festival, 2008
He's an institution. Or he belongs in one. A savant-like scorekeeper who
follows high school and college sports religiously, Lawrence "Deuce"
Skurcenski truly is one of a kind. A colorful character with his own trading
card and catchphrases, Deuce has covered over 10,000 basketball games and
more than 3,000 football games (just ask him) in a career spanning five-plus
decades and a countless supply of pencils and legal pads.
The legend of "DEUCE" is told in this captivating documentary by Joe and Mark
Graziano, a pair of Pittsburgh natives who follow Skurcenski from getting
his weekly flattop cut at the local barbershop to rubbing elbows with Bob
Huggins at the ABCD Basketball Camp and includes testimonials from former
Pitt football coach Dave Wannstedt, Steelers play-by-play announcer Bill
Hillgrove, ex-Pitt basketball star turned NBA player, DeJuan Blair and
record-setting NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski.
"DEUCE" also features music from Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa and
was voted the winner of the Audience Award at the 2008 Three Rivers Film
Festival. (73 minutes, Blu-ray, 2011)
